CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) is a class of fatty acids found in beef, dairy products and some plants. Although CLA plays an important role in a number of cellular metabolic processes, humans are not able to produce CLA and, therefore, can only obtain it from the diet.
Dietary sources of CLA typically include red meat and dairy products, though my CLA is derived from safflower oil. CLA has been shown in animal experiments to assist in glucose metabolism, the reduction of body fat, and enhancement/retention of lean body mass (muscle).
